We want to know how to use ssh-agent2 and ssh-add2 after setting up public key authentication.

  1. Set up public key authentication

Note: the ssh-add2 program must be started as a child process of the ssh-agent2 program.

  1. Start ssh-agent2 by issuing either of the following commands:
    exec ssh-agent $SHELL
    or
    eval ssh-agent2
  2. Add your identity to ssh-agent2 by issuing the following command:
    ssh-add2 /path/to/private-key-filename
    for example:
    ssh-add2 $HOME/.ssh2/id_dsa_2048_a.pub
  3. Enter the pass phrase of your private key.

You are now ready to connect to remote host computers using the private key you just added without the need to supply the private key pass phrase
