This occurs typically when MobileID process has no permissions to read files in /opt/tectia/midd/conf, or write files in /opt/tectia/midd/logs/.

MobileID process runs by default as a user named “wlogin” and if the MobileID filesystem files are edited i.e. using a root account, the privileges for the “wlogin” user may be overwritten.

To reset the file permissions:

  1. Login to the MobileID machine using a SSH client terminal.

  2. Issue commands:

 chown wlogin:wlogin –R /opt/tectia/midd/conf/

 chown wlogin:wlogin –R /opt/tectia/midd/logs/

Another possible reason is that SELinux is denying Web Access to restart the MobileID process.

To remedy this correct your SELinux settings, or disable SELinux, as below:

  1. Login to the MobileID machine using a SSH client terminal.
  2. Issue command: echo 0 >/selinux/enforce
