In short, I need to know if SSH Tectia version 4.4 will support SHA256 or if it is only supportive of SHA-1

In version 4.4, the SHA-256 algorithm is supported in MACs (message authentication codes) but not in other places where hash algorithms are used (such as key exchange, or public key or certificate authentication).

The ssh2_config and sshd2_config files can have a keyword MACs which can have hmac-sha256@ssh.com in the list of algorithms. This MAC algorithm is not supported in FIPS mode.

Yes, 6.2 due for release Q2 2011.
