The sftp server that SSH Tectia Server 6.x uses is sft-server-g3 and it is started through the user's shell. When chrooting users, only the files under the user's OMVS home directory are visible to the user. Because the shell binary and the sft-server-g3 binary are not visible to the user, they need to be copied to the user's home directory:

  • $HOME/bin/sh (or whatever the user's shell is defined to be in the user's OMVS segment)
  • $HOME/opt/tectia/libexec/sft-server-g3

Note: The chrooting changes the file system root in the Unix subsystem. It does not affect the permissions that user has to MVS datasets.
