I'm trying to install Tectia client 5.3.1 via Manager, but it is installing the 64 bit version also on a 32 bit platform, which obviously won't work.

What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Please note that the 5.3. version is no longer supported, and also only 6.0. and 6.1. Manager are supported. To see the list of supported products:

http://www.tectia.com/en/Support/Support_Services/End_of_Support_Dates.iw3

The Tectia Client and Server packages prior to 5.3.2 (So the 5.3.1 version is affected) had a problem in their XML metadata files which contain package information. This caused the Manager to always install the 32 bit version even to a 64 bit host.

Fix: The XML metadata files have been fixed in server/client version 5.3.2 (and higher). Please download and import the newer version into Manager and try again.
