Here's a summary of the release notes (6.4.2 versions):

Tectia Client

New Features:

  • Windows: Added support for Windows Server 2012 for Tectia Client and Server.

  • All Platforms: Added to Server authentication CA Certificate an option "endpoint identity check". Moreover, included options to ask, deny or accept a certificate if the hostname does not match the certificate’s hostname.

  • Solaris 11 SPARC: New installation packages available for Oracle Solaris 11 (SPARC).

  • Solaris 11 x86-64: New installation packages available for Oracle Solaris 11 (x86-64).

Bug Fixes:

  • All Platforms: In file transfer clients, ascii and character set conversion related site commands to Tectia SSH Server for IBM z/OS now work against all versions of Tectia SSH Server for IBM z/OS.

  • All Platforms: Fixed a memory leak in ssh-broker-g3 and in ssh-servant-g3. The memory leak occurred in certain cases when GSSAPI authentication was used.

  • All Platforms: SSH_SFTP_CMD_GETPUT_MODE environment variable works again.

  • All Platforms: The End-user license agreement (EULA) has been updated to reflect the new company name.

  • All Platforms: Tectia Client, Server and ConnectSecure executables no longer fail to start when using relative path ./<executable_name>.

  • All Platforms: scpg3 option "-a" no longer fails to do ascii conversion.

  • All Platforms: Broker acting as socks proxy no longer leaves connections in close_wait state.

Tectia Server

New Features:

  • Windows: Added support for Windows Server 2012 for Tectia Client and Server.

  • AIX: Tectia Server on AIX will always be started using "startsrc -s ssh-tectia-server" command. That will start 2 ssh-server-g3 processes, one will be a service launcher, which will communicate with AIX System Resource Controller, and the second will be the normal ssh-server-g3 process handling connections.

Now the case of stopping the Tectia Server when the server has still open connections will be transparent to the AIX System Resource Controller, as it will believe that the Tectia Server is stopped, but will still have the existing connections active.

  • Solaris 11 SPARC: New installation packages available for Oracle Solaris 11 (SPARC).

  • Solaris 11 x86-64: New installation packages available for Oracle Solaris 11 (x86-64).

  • All Platforms: Implemented passpharse support in init string in the Tectia Server communicating via PKCS#11.

Bug Fixes:

  • All Platforms: Fixed a memory leak in ssh-broker-g3 and in ssh-servant-g3. The memory leak occurred in certain cases when GSSAPI authentication was used.

  • Windows: Viewing Troubleshooting Log has been reactivated and improved performance and reliability.

  • AIX: When upgrading a Tectia Server that has active connections, the server will not restart if the fix for APAR IV07310 is installed on the AIX host.

  • All Platforms: Improved documentation and removed inconsistencies in parsing the Regular expressions used in the Allow/Deny-from options of the authorization's file.

  • Windows: Fixed the Troubleshooting Log from the server, as it was slowing down too much plus was missing some trace messages when the Tectia Server was under stress.

  • All Platforms: The End-user license agreement (EULA) has been updated to reflect the new company name.

  • All Platforms: Tectia Client, Server and ConnectSecure executables no longer fail to start when using relative path ./<executable_name>.

  • Unix: Fixed the behavior when a ssh terminal connection has processes in the background and requests to exit. Previously, when it was executed via remote command without terminal or with an interactive session, the ssh terminal connection hanged. Now, in the case of remote command, it will kill the background process and will exit, and in the case of interactive session, the ssh terminal connection will exit and will leave the background processes running.

  • All Platforms: There is no longer different behavior in terminal action when Tectia Server is started with ssh-server-config-default.xml configuration file or without any configuration file.

  • All Platforms: Reloading the configuration on Tectia Server no longer hangs if a forced command specified in an authorization file has been executed.

  • Windows: There is no longer different behavior in terminal action when Tectia Server is started without any configuration file or when it is started with the configuration file generated by the Tectia Server Configuration GUI.

Tectia Server for IBM z/OS

New Features:

  • All Platforms: Added the possibility to show the SFTP server banner to the FTP client when connecting using FTP-to-SFTP Conversion.

Bug Fixes:

  • All Platforms: In file transfer clients, ascii and character set conversion related site commands to Tectia SSH Server for IBM z/OS now work against all versions of Tectia SSH Server for IBM z/OS.

  • z/OS: Changed the behavior so that OpenSSH SFTP client no longer gets different results from Tectia Client when putting to a new dataset that has the same name as an existing dataset prefix.

  • All Platforms: Now it is possible to set the remote newline convention in FTP-SFTP conversion when performing ASCII file transfers.

  • z/OS: Migrated datasets that are transferred as ASCII via SOCKS proxy will no longer be unusable.

  • z/OS: sft-server-g3 no longer goes into an endless loop when putting to a preallocated dataset using OpenSSH sftp client and ftadv:TRANSFER_FILE_LINE_DELIMITER=MVS-FTP

  • z/OS: Improved the documentation regarding the usage of OpenSSH scp when connecting to Tectia Server for IBM z/OS.

  • All Platforms: SSH_SFTP_CMD_GETPUT_MODE environment variable works again.

  • All Platforms: The End-user license agreement (EULA) has been updated to reflect the new company name.

  • All Platforms: scpg3 option "-a" no longer fails to do ASCII conversion.

  • z/OS: Removed few wrong warning messages.

  • z/OS: Fixed the task init scripts when stopping child processes to not to result in EC6 abends on shutdown.

  • z/OS: Removed a redundant license check when using socks proxy.

  • z/OS: SSHSP no longer raises EC6 abends on shutdown.

  • z/OS: When using FTP Proxy, z/OS Migrated datasets no longer fail to be recalled.

  • Windows: In Tectia Connections Configuration, transparent tunnel filter rules are now saved when the start address for public to private network connections is not defined.

  • All Platforms: Fixed a memory leak in ssh-broker-g3 and in ssh-servant-g3. The memory leak occurred in certain cases when GSSAPI authentication was used.

  • Windows: In Tectia Connections Configuration, when managing CA Certificates, we have added a new field in the CA certificates table to display the certificate name.

  • All Platforms: Now it is possible to set the remote newline convention in FTP-SFTP conversion when performing ASCII file transfers.

  • All Platforms: SSH_SFTP_CMD_GETPUT_MODE environment variable works again.
