About This Version

The 6.3 releases for SSH Server and Client are declared feature complete and Long Term Supported (LTS). Therefore, they are supported for 3 years from the release date of 6.3.0, with the possibility to extend that support for 2 more years. There will be 6.3 maintenance releases which will fix critical bugs, but no new features will be added to any 6.3 release.

Note that SSH ConnectSecure, MFT Events and SSH Server for z/OS are not Long Term Supported versions, therefore are only supported for 3 years from the release of 6.3.0.

Items addressed in this release that were not present in MFT Events, SSH Client, ConnectSecure, or Server 6.3.0 are listed below.

Special items for this release are:

  • Added Password Cache support for Radius, SecurID and GSSAPI authentication methods
  • Fixed bugs affecting stability, file transfer, IPv6 functionality and licensing on z/OS.

New features in Tectia SSH Server

  • Windows: SecurID authentication will now use the Password Cache feature if enabled.

  • Windows: GSSAPI authentication will now use the Password Cache feature if enabled.

  • Windows: Host-based authentication will now use Password Cache feature if enabled.

  • Windows: Keyboard interactive will now use Password Cache feature if enabled.

Bug fixes in Tectia SSH Server

  • All platforms: When transferring files to SSH Tectia Server using certain 3th party file transfer clients, if the file already existed, it was always truncated if it was chosen not to overwrite the file.

  • All platforms: When SSH Tectia Server fails to reconfigure, it will no longer fail to report it.

  • Documentation: Removed the remark of Tectia Server for Windows not being supported on systems with more than 30 CPU's, as this restriction is no longer valid.

  • Documentation: Added Windows Server 2003 R2 as an officially supported platform.

  • Documentation: In FIPS mode, the RSA key length is at least 1024 bits.

  • Windows: The servants from SSH Tectia Server will no longer corrupt memory potentially causing a hung or a crash under certain conditions when under stress.

  • Documentation: Specified that in Windows, the following libraries must have read and write permissions for any user that logs in to the SSH Server: .i18n_icu.dll .icudt40.dll .icuuc40.dll

  • All platforms: When no ssh-server-config.xml file was present, or when no <settings> element was present in the ssh-server-config.xml file, the default value of record-ptyless-sessions=yes was not honored. Corrected that.

Bug fixes in Tectia Client and ConnectSecure

  • Documentation: Instructions to rename folders in SSH Tectia Connections Configuration GUI have been updated.

  • Documentation: Tectia Client and ConnectSecure troubleshooting instructions have been improved in the User's Manual.

  • Documentation: In FIPS mode, the RSA key length is at least 1024 bits.

  • All platforms: X11 forwarding no longer fails to work on SSH Tectia Client and ConnectSecure.

  • Windows: Broker no longer busyloops under certain conditions when TCP connect timeout is reached.

  • All platforms: During file transfer, when streaming is supported, but fails, the client will now try to do the file transfer using traditional SFTP protocol.

  • All platforms: Tectia file transfer clients will no longer send type and streaming proves if the file transfer server is not from Tectia. That was causing dropping of the connection on some 3th party file transfer servers.

  • All platforms: Added the existing option in sshg3 --user=USERNAME to scpg3 and sftpg3.

Bug fixes in MFT Events

  • All platforms: MFT Events engine will not hang after triggering more than 30 events simultaneously.

  • Documentation: In FIPS mode, the RSA key length is at least 1024 bits.

  • All platforms: MFT Events engine no longer leaks in connection status and remove command handling.
