About this version:

The 6.3 release for SSH Server and Client is declared feature complete and Long Term Supported (LTS). Therefore, it is supported for 3 years from the release date of 6.3.0, with the possibility to extend that support for 2 more years. There will be 6.3 maintenance releases which will fix critical bugs, but no new features will be added to any 6.3 release.

Note that SSH ConnectSecure, MFT Events and SSH Server for z/OS are not Long Term Supported versions, therefore are only supported for 3 years from the release of 6.3.0.

This release of MFT Events, SSH Client, ConnectSecure, and Server 6.3.0 is a Maintenance Release of MFT Events, SSH Client, ConnectSecure, and Server 6.2.5. Therefore, this release is functionally and syntactically similar to MFT Events, SSH Client, ConnectSecure, and Server 6.2.5, with the exception of the bug fixes and the new functionalities and/or features themselves specified in this document. Therefore, no more maintenance releases will be made under the name of 6.2.

Items addressed in this release that were not present in MFT Events, SSH Client, ConnectSecure, or Server 6.2.5 are listed below.

Special items for this release are:

  • Added support for IPv6 FTP Tunnelling
  • Added support for IPv6 in z/OS
  • Added Password Caching for Windows to be able to have the same access rights when a user logs in via interactive or non-interactive authentication.

New features in Tectia SSH Server

  • Windows: Added new authorization method in SSH Tectia server for Windows called Password Caching. Used with non-interactive authentication methods only. When enabled, after the non-interactive authentication method has successfully granted access to the user, it uses a cached password to obtain the Access Token in which the user's session will start. The reason for this is that the Access Token provided by Windows when granting access without a Password has less privileges than the Access Token provided by Windows with Password.

  • All Platforms: SSH Tectia Client and Server now support IPv6 ZoneIDs.

  • All Platforms: Added remote FTP Tunnel IPv6 support.

Bug fixes in Tectia SSH Server

  • Windows: Server is now able to connect network drives that contain Unicode characters in their resource names.

  • Windows: Logon sessions are no longer leaked when connecting to SSH Tectia Server which has virtual folders defined to Windows network shares.

  • Windows: Now it is possible again to use forced commands with the option "interactive=yes" and not specify a remote command when establishing the connection.

  • Windows: Persistent network resource connections are no longer leaked in some cases when logging in to SSH Tectia Server.

  • Windows: Network drives no longer fail to be mapped on 64-bit Windows under certain conditions.

New features in Tectia SSH Client and ConnectSecure

  • All Platforms: Added remote FTP Tunnel IPv6 support.

  • All Platforms: SSH Tectia Client and Server now support IPv6 ZoneIDs.

Bug fixes in Tectia Client and ConnectSecure

  • Windows: Local and transparent TCP tunneling no longer fail to work on hosts with IPv4 addresses only enabled.

  • Windows: Broker will no longer deadlock when trying to connect to an unresponsive server.

  • Windows: Upgrading SSH Tectia ConnectSecure to 6.3.0 will no longer ask you to uninstall SSH Tectia Client, but it will ask you to uninstall SSH Tectia ConnectSecure.

  • All Platforms: Transparent TCP Tunnels no longer leak TCP listeners for the lifetime of the tunneled application.

  • All Platforms: Both IPv4 and IPv6 listeners are no longer created when transparently tunneling applications.

  • Windows: SSH GUI Client will no longer crash when closing the window.

  • Windows: The option "Use Alt as meta key (send Escape)" no longer fails to work.

  • Windows: Persistent network resource connections are no longer leaked in some cases when logging in to SSH Tectia Server.

New features in Tectia SSH Server for IBM z/OS

  • z/OS: Added IPv6 support to SSH Tectia Client and Server for z/OS.

Bug fixes in Tectia SSH Server for IBM z/OS

  • none
