Tectia Client/Server/ConnectSecure 6.2.4 was released on 2012-03-09. What is new in this release?

This release contains some major new features and bug fixes.

New features in Tectia Server

  • All Platforms: Added support for IPv6 in SSH Server. In all functionality where IPv4 addresses were used, IPv6 addresses can now be used. By default, only IPv4 addresses are in use.
  • Windows: Verisign certificate for signing Windows packages has been renewed.
  • Windows: Added configuration option to terminate all processes started by the user on the SSH terminal session when the user logs off from the session. By default this is not enabled.

Bug fixes in Tectia Server

  • Windows: Fixed a memory corruption in the server which was breaking the domain precedence in certain conditions, causing that some users were not able to log on to the SSH server.
  • All platforms: Fixed a crash that occurred when shutting down the SSH server.
  • All Platforms: Ssh-keygen-g3 will no longer return 255 when performing public key derivation.
  • Windows: Windows Configuration GUI no longer activates the Servant lifetime feature when resetting values to default.
  • All Platforms: Improved the Diffie-Hellman KEX on GEX mode algorithm.
  • HPUX: Now it is possible to upgrade from 6.1.x to 6.2.x. However, it will still leave some old files behind in /opt/tectia/libexec.
  • Windows: Tectia server on Windows no longer disconnects a terminal session when backspace is kept pressed down.
  • All Platforms: Improved the performance and optimized the CPU utilization when transferring files in ASCII mode.

New features in Tectia Client and ConnectSecure

  • All Platforms: Added new commands to ssh-broker-ctl to be able to open, list, and close tunnel listeners.
  • Windows: Verisign certificate for signing Windows packages has been renewed.

Bug fixes in Tectia Client and ConnectSecure

  • Windows: Refactored the implementation of delivering timeouts. As a result, Windows GUI will not deadlock anymore under certain conditions.
  • Windows: Refactored the way threads are spawn on the Windows GUI. With this change, it will consume much less resources and will fix some potential hangs or deadlocks.
  • All platforms: Fixed a crash in Broker when a few clients attempt to disconnect from an unresponsive host.
  • Windows: Fixed the client GUI, as it was busylooping under certain conditions.
  • Windows: Tectia clients no longer fail to run when launched from an SSH session created using GSSAPI authentication.
  • Windows: Client GUI no longer crashes when print preview is closed.
  • All Platforms: Ssh-keygen-g3 will no longer return 255 when performing public key derivation.
  • All Platforms: When trace messages are active, "Recursive call detected" will no longer be printed too many times.
  • Documentation: Improved the documentation on how hostkey algorithms order is followed in Broker.
  • Documentation: Enhanced file transfer features from ConnectSecure are also available in Client.
  • All Platforms: Improved the Diffie-Hellman KEX on GEX mode algorithm.
  • HPUX: Now it is possible to upgrade from 6.1.x to 6.2.x. However, it will still leave some old files behind in /opt/tectia/libexec.
  • All Platforms: Certificate/key chooser no longer always prompts for PIN or passphrase for all tokens, smartcards, and PKCS#12 blobs available.
  • All Platforms: Improved the performance and optimized the CPU utilization when transferring files in ASCII mode.
  • All Platforms: Fixed typos in ssh-broker-ctl upload wizard´s help text.
  • All Platforms: Known host key files with hashed file name format no longer contain the name of the server as comment inside the file.
