We are upgrading our server from Solaris 9 to Suse Linux Enterprise Server SP3 and also tectia from 5.1 to 6.0.6.

a) What security changes are required? b) Is it required to replace ftp to sftpg3 ? c) Also I heard some batch id alias is required. any idea?

Hi Ashish,

No changes in Tectia (neither client nor server) configuration are required when upgrading from 5.x to 6.0.6.

I'm not sure what you are referring to regarding a batch id alias.

I heard only 3 methods in tectia: 1. Native SFTP - sftpg3 2. SFTP transparent tunneling and 3. FTP-SFTP conversion

Please suggest if I want to use only Native SFTP then current framework which is FTP-SFTP conversion and only has ftp command, needs to be converted to sftpg3. Please confirm.

The batch id is only for mainframe systems
