Trying to SFTP from MVS to Windows. The file is on tape but I am getting a 2048 error. I have been sucessful with dasd files but error out on tape files. I've tried LSITE and AUTOMount but no luck.

Divide the BPXBATCH return code by 256 to get the sftpg3 exit value. This makes 8 and the User Manual gives the explanation "Undetermined error", so you will have to look further.

Check if the system console has any messages about allocating and mounting the tape or RACF messages about access violations.

Run sftpg3 in verbose mode (with the option -D 2) to get all the error messages. You can also use a higher debugging level for dataset-related processing with the option:

-D "*Mvs*=16".

Review the requirements for setting up the SSZ.MOUNT facility in RACF. They are in the Administrators Manual.

That -D option should have asterisks around the Mvs. It should be quote, asterisk, M, v, s, asterisk, equals, 1, 6, quote.

I want to SFTP to a Windows box using BPXBATCH . How do I specify the path for the id_rsa.pub key on the windows box. cannot use .ssh as in Unix

this does not work, plus other things I tried

PARM='sh sftp dfsdf\syaye59@&RMTHOST dir:/SYAYE59/id_rsa.pub'
