Hi,

I have 2 questions:

  1. Has the end-of-support date confirmed for Tectia client/server v6.1.x? If yes, what is it?
  2. Is Tectia Client/server 6.2 compatible with Tectia Server/Client 6.1? Can I know where I can find such information?

Thanks.

Hi,

Has the end-of-support date confirmed for Tectia client/server v6.1.x?

Tectia Client/Server 6.1 end of support date is April 2012 (extendable to October 2013 if separately agreed).

The end of support dates for all Tectia products can be found from here:

http://www.tectia.com/en/Support/Support_Services/End_of_Support_Dates.iw3

Is Tectia Client/server 6.2 compatible with Tectia Server/Client 6.1?

Yes, Tectia Client/Server 6.2 is backwards compatible with Tectia Client/Server 6.1 with the exception of deprecating support for some ciphers and platforms. You can read more about those here.

Hi Roman,

Thanks for the reply. For the EOL, the link only says "estimate". So it is not yet confirmed, right? For whether v6.1 client/server is compatible with v6.2 client/server, I cannot find such info in the link you provide. Is there any place that explicite states this?

I believe those dates should be fairly accurate. I'll look into why they are marked as "estimate". In regards to 6.1-6.2 compatibility, the closest I can find is this from the server admin manual: http://www.tectia.com/manuals/server-admin/62/server-upgrading.html and this from the client: http://www.tectia.com/manuals/client-user/62/clientserver-upgrading.html
