I've tried to configure Tectia SSH Server Service on Windows 2008 Cluster Resource as a generic service. After configuration, it fails to start. However, I can start the service on Windows service console. How do I make this work?

The startup problem with Tectia ssh server on windows 2008 failover cluster is caused by a bug in Windows 2008 cluster management generic service wizard. The wizard corrupts the startup parameters entry by adding service executable name incorrectly into that field.

To fix the issue after creating the generic service

  1. Open Tectia service resource from cluster management tool
  2. go to properties and click general tab
  3. clear the startup parameters field
  4. add line --start-service
  5. apply
