we are using tectia client 6.0.5 . rename is working fine when we use sftpg3 manually . but through script it is not working . below is the script that we are using.

sftpg3 --password=password user@ipaddress#269 << EOF
sput /home/filename /home1/filename

rename /home1/filename /home1/file_name_something

quit EOF

rename is working when we manually enter above commands at command prompt but not through script.

I too have similar problem, let me know if you are able to resolve the issue. Like in below script I am able to see only pwd working and other commands sput etc not working.

sftpg3 --password=password user@ipaddress#269 << EOF pwd sput /home/filename /home1/filename

rename /home1/filename /home1/file_name_something

quit EOF

Thanks

Try this in Batch mode.

sftpg3 --password= -B - @#269

This will not work from the command prompt but it does work from the script.

-B (batch mode) - (filename)

Hi, I do have a similar problem.

In my case, command rename is working if you do not refer the directory (from & to).

Example: rename filename.tmp fileother.dat (this works fine)

if you use the reference like rename /home1/filename.tmp /home0/fileother.dat/ it does not work anymore.

Any of you guys got the response for this issue ?

I appreciate any tip to solve this problem.

Thanks.
