I enjoyed the Web seminar on Manager this afternoon but apparently could not get a question received, so I'll ask it here. I understand Manager does not support Server For z/OS. What I don't understand is why. Is such support in the works?

Hi,

After consulting with our partners and existing z/OS customers, the general feedback has been that due to the nature of z/OS (that it is a mainframe, and is "sensitive") means that Tectia Manager support for z/OS would not be widely used and therefore has not been developed.

From the feedback received, it was clear that many z/OS server admins would prefer not to install a 3rd party management agent on the system, and instead would like to configure the required configuration files of Tectia Server / Tectia Client themselves.

Of course, if there is a clear business use case with multiple z/OS servers, the development would be reviewed.

Thanks, James
