I use Tectia Client File Transfer to upload photos to a corporate phonebook. I need the SFTP connection often several times a day. Therefore I'd like to have the basic settings saved (image folders, etc.) in a connection profile.

However, when I create a profile, the default settings seem to launch the SSH client, not the SFTP one, and I get an error, "Failed to open a secure terminal session: broker failure".

How can I make the profile create a file transfer connection?

Thank you!

Hi Pauli,

What version of Tectia Client are you using?

In recent enough versions (6.x) you can configure this on a per-profile basis.

  1. In the Tectia Configurator just go to the connection profile
  2. under the "Windows" tab set the Initial window type for the GUI Client to "File transfer".
  3. Then click OK.

The next time you select this profile from Tectia Client it should start the File transfer window.

In older versions of Tectia Client I believe you can configure this by connecting to the profile, leaving only the windows that you would like (such as only one file transfer window and no terminal window) and then from the menu selecting File->"Save Layout"
