I am getting a RC=1536 or error (6) trying to send a file to my vendor. They get the file but I cannot implement this job due to the error 1536. Can I set the exit value if this occurs?

Here is my command:

cd inbound
sput /ftadv:X=text,f=line///DD:DATA FDI_CONFIRM.txt

Here is my error:

sftp> cd inbound
sftp> sput /ftadv:X=text,f=line///DD:DATA FDI_CONFIRM.txt
Error (6): chmod_dest: /inbound/FDI_CONFIRM.txt (dst): no such file (server msg
sftp> ls

What version of Tectia Client on z/OS are you using? I believe in the latest version of Tectia Client chmod failures are treated as warnings instead of errors.

I'm not sure what is it that you're trying to do. Are you trying to catch this error and set a specific exit value if this happens? If so, then an option might be to use the exit-value=VALUE command as documented here

Defines the exit value of sftpg3 in batch mode in case an error occured. The value must be between 0 and 255. If exit-value is set to something else than 0, batch execution terminates when the first error occurs. The default value is 0.
