We host a Tectia SFTP server (Version and have multiple clients from different countries connecting to us to deposit files on a daily basis.

The clients are all configured under the Tectia Server -> Services in the Tectia server configuration program and their account credentials are authenticated via the local server user accounts.

What I found unusual is that the order of the clients in the services affect the root home directory when the clients SFTP into the server.

We use a unique custom specified folder that is pointing to a folder in the server's C drive (e.g C DRIVE SFTP ClientD) but there are times when the a client D for some reason may login in and be directed to Client B's home folder!

This is resolved by shifting client D further up above client B's hierarchical order. This is extremely weird behavior and I was hoping someone can explain and recommend a fix or what could I have configured incorrectly?
