MobileID server supports upgrade via RPM packages. Here's how the process goes:

  1. Download the latest RPM package (provided by SSH contact person)
  2. Make an SSH connection to your MobileID server appliance and transfer the RPM package there
  3. Run the upgrade command: rpm –Uvf <rpmfile>
  4. After the upgrade finishes, ensure that the server processes are up and running:

cd /etc/init.d/

./webaccess start

./midd start

NOTE! If you are using package earlier than 1.3.6-24 as the upgrade make sure you backup all local changes first. Packages prior to 1.3.6-24 have a bug in their upgrade that will override all local modifications. (this does not apply to database or the configuration itself (which can be reapplied from the webgui)). Easiest way to do this is:

cd /

tar cvzf midd-backup.tgz etc/mobileid usr/lib/mobileid/webaccess

this will allow you to recover local changes after upgrade.

If you are upgrading to 1.3.6-24 or later this is not required e.g. it will preserve local changes.
