Hi Guys,

I was wondering, why in the world the following connection issue is a warning and not an error.

warning: Connecting to *our wrong host name here** failed: No address associated to the name

I am asking that because, not being able to resolve a name should be a seriously failure with an associated return code. Instead is a simple warning with scp return code 0 successfully executed..

we are using scp: SSH Tectia Server 4.4.8 on sparc-sun-solaris2.8 Build: 21

Thanks in advance,

Martin Hermosilla

Hi Martin,

Indeed you are correct. This is something that has been fixed in more recent versions of Tectia Client. When I try this with version 6.2.0 I get an error message:

error: could not connect to `<non-existing dns name>'

and and exit code of 4.

Version 4.x is already unsupported so I would consider upgrading.
